Treat It Once, at the Point It Enters the House

Point of Entry, Not Point of Use

A whole-house system is installed at the point where the water supply enters your home, which means everything downstream benefits: every faucet, every shower, the washing machine, the dishwasher and the water heater. That is the difference between it and an under-sink filter, which only treats one tap. If your concern is the water you drink, an RO unit at the kitchen sink is the efficient answer. If your concern is the water hitting every fixture and appliance in the house, this is.

Filtration and Softening Are Different Jobs

It is worth being clear about this because the terms get used loosely. Filtration removes sediment, particulates, chlorine and taste and odour issues. Softening removes the calcium and magnesium that cause scale. A whole-house filter will not stop your water heater scaling up, and a softener will not do much about taste. Many Valley homes end up with both, plumbed in sequence. We will explain which of your problems each one actually solves before you buy anything.

Sizing It Properly

A system that is undersized for the house restricts flow — you notice it as pressure dropping when two things run at once. One that is oversized costs more than it needed to. Sizing comes down to how many people are in the house, how many bathrooms and what your incoming flow rate looks like. We work that out rather than fitting whatever is on the shelf.

How We Work

Call or send the form and we will talk it through. Estimates are free. If we need to come out and diagnose on site, our service call is $145. We work Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm. Doug Adair has run this company since 1978, and he still goes out on jobs himself. You get a straight assessment of what your home actually needs — not a list of extras someone was trained to sell you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between whole-house filtration and a water softener?

Filtration removes sediment, chlorine and things that affect taste and smell. Softening removes the hardness minerals that cause scale. They solve different problems and many homes here need both.

Will a whole-house filter fix my hard water?

No. Hard water is a mineral problem and needs a softener or conditioner. A filter helps with taste, odour and sediment, but it will not stop scale forming in your water heater.

Will it reduce my water pressure?

Not if it is sized properly for the house. An undersized system will restrict flow, which is why we size it against your household's actual demand rather than fitting a standard unit to every home.

Can I add filtration to a softener I already have?

Usually, yes. We will look at what is already installed and where, and work out the sensible way to add to it.
